  2. You are illustrating a new cover for your favorite book! Have too many favorite books to choose from? That’s ok you can create your own story/book!

  3. Having trouble deciding what to put on your cover? Think about your favorite scene from the book and draw a picture of it. Or draw a picture of the main character doing something neat! Take a look at some picture books and think about how the cover relates to what the story is about, this is what you want to do with your book cover.

Mandala

Today we are going to make our a Mandala. The word Mandala means circle in Sanskirt, which is the ancient Indo-European language of India. You start with a small circle and then continue drawing circles around the center one until you fill your page. Then in each circle you create a design that repeats itself as you go around the circle. The great thing about this is you can make it as detailed or as simplistic as you like! You can even make one outside with sidewalk chalk!

To learn more about Mandala and see which what the colors you choose to color with represent check out this website.

Optical Illusion

This project is geared towards all grades! An optical illusion is when an image plays a trick on your mind. Check out this optical illusion here. If you look hard enough it will look like the picture is moving, but it's not! For our project we are going to make it look like our hand is moving off the page.
