Mr. Barringer has taught History /Social Studies for several years at various levels. He 's taught at LGMS for 5 years and was recently named Lowe's Grove Magnet Middle Schools' 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year! Mr. Barringer was also a finalist for the Durham Education Awards: 2019-2020 DEA Motivational Teacher of the Year!

He received his Bachelor's Degree in History and Secondary Education & Master's Degree (MAT) from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mr. Barringer is also an alumni of the North Carolina Center for Advancement of Teaching; He is a North Carolina Holocaust Educator and assists with training public school teachers across the state of North Carolina on how to effectively teach the Holocaust, Genocide, Antisemitism, Propaganda, and the history of World War 2. He's recently began leading District Professional Development Workshops regarding Holocaust Education, focusing on effective resources and strategies.

Mr. Barringer is originally from Concord, NC. He attended Concord High School and graduated in 2007. After graduating high school, Mr. Barringer enlisted into the United States Army. Mr. Barringer plans to become a School Administrator within the next 3 years, and is currently considering pursuing a Doctor in Education.

Some of Mr. Barringer's favorite outside interests and hobbies include: spending time with his wife, Kira, and their two dogs, Oliver & Sophie; he also enjoys spending time with family and friends, coffee, hiking, current events, politics and social issues, movies, music, the mountains and traveling to new places and experiencing different places with his wife.
