OUR MISSION STATEMENT

"The mission of Githens Middle School Media Center is

to guide, motivate, and inspire our students toward becoming

productive and educated citizens who are effective users of

information technology and lifelong readers."

This mission is accomplished by:

• providing support for effective research processes including information use and evaluation

• promoting the use of the Media Center by students and faculty at Githens

• collaborating with teachers to develop strategies to meet the information needs of students and instructional goals of the classroom

• supporting the school curriculum and reading initiatives with relevant and current resources
