Wright's Corner
To educate is to provide a gift; a gift that will stay with that person the rest of their life. That gift will forever flourish and bloom within that individual. I still fondly remember the Math teacher who taught me the multiplication table, the Social Studies teacher who taught me how to draw a map of the continents of the world free-handed, and the Biology teacher who taught me about the essential workings of the alimentary canal. I will never forget their tutelage.
Now, as I embark on this remarkable journey as a middle school teacher, I realize the pendulum of that gift swings both ways. For now, my heart glows with an unbound happiness each time a student bursts with excitement when the “learning connection” is achieved. That same glow happens when a student walks out of my classroom and says over his or her shoulder, “Mr. Wright, I really liked class today—see ya tomorrow”. Making that educational connection is nothing more than shimmering gold. The gift of learning is a two-fold endeavor, and I am overjoyed that I will get to experience it with your pupil, thank you for the gift of allowing me to educate your student. Go Raiders!
