My name is Julia Yolanda Cedeño Martinez, and I am from La Ceiba, Honduras, a beautiful country located in the heart of America. I have worked as a teacher for 20 years, sharing my passion for education with children. My inspiration to pursue this noble profession came from my mother, who showed me the way through her example.

In addition to my dedication to teaching, I enjoy caring for plants, savoring a good cup of coffee, and dancing. I came to the United States through a cultural exchange program called Global, which has allowed me to broaden my horizons and enrich both my professional and personal experiences.

Mi nombre es Julia Yolanda Cedeño Martinez y soy de La Ceiba, Honduras, un hermoso país ubicado en el corazón de América. He trabajado como maestra durante 20 años, compartiendo mi pasión por la educación con niños. Mi inspiración para seguir esta noble profesión vino de mi madre, quien con su ejemplo me mostró el camino.

Además de mi dedicación a la enseñanza, disfruto cuidar plantas, saborear una buena taza de café y bailar. Llegué a los Estados Unidos a través de un programa de intercambio cultural llamado Global, que me ha permitido ampliar mis horizontes y enriquecer mi experiencia profesional y personal.

¡Hola! I’m María Fernanda Larrea, and I’m originally from Chile. I’m a Birth - Kindergarten teacher with a Master’s in Early Childhood Education and a certification in Positive Discipline. I’ve spent the last 12 years teaching—five of those years in English immersion programs in Chile and the last seven in Dual Language Immersion programs in North Carolina.

This is my first year as a Dual Language Specialist, and while I won’t be directly teaching students in the classroom anymore, I’m thrilled to work with Ms. Cedeño to build a strong program that celebrates diversity and fosters a love of learning in two languages. Our shared goal is to ensure your child’s success!

Bilingual education has been a huge part of my life since I was educated that way in Chile, and I’m grateful for all the opportunities being biliterate has provided me. I look forward to helping your child thrive and make the most of their bilingual education experience.

¡Hola! Soy María Fernanda Larrea, originaria de Chile. Soy maestra de Kindergarten con una Maestría en Educación Inicial y una certificación en Disciplina Positiva. Durante los últimos 12 años he tenido el privilegio de enseñar: cinco de ellos en programas de inmersión en inglés en Chile y los últimos siete en programas de Doble Lenguaje en Carolina del Norte.

Este es mi primer año como Especialista en Inmersión en Dos Idiomas, y aunque ya no estaré enseñando en el aula con sus hijos/as, estoy muy emocionada de trabajar junto a Ms. Cedeño para crear un programa que celebre la diversidad y el amor por aprender en dos idiomas. Nuestro objetivo es claro: ¡queremos que su hijo/a tenga mucho éxito!

La educación bilingüe ha sido una parte importante de mi vida, ya que así me eduqué en Chile, y estoy agradecida por todas las puertas que se han abierto para mí gracias a ser bilingüe. Espero que juntos podamos ofrecer a sus hijos/as una experiencia enriquecedora y llena de oportunidades.
