Each year Colorado students have an opportunity to nominate and vote for books for the Colorado Children’s Book Award. Swigert students in grades 1-5 have a chance to vote for their favorite nominated junior book (if they have read or been read to three or more) and one favorite picture book (if they have read or been read to three or more) every Spring. They will also have a chance to recommend books they have loved and want to see nominated for the next school year's Colorado Children's Book Award.
