I'm using Google Classroom, which I've used now for several years. Most of my students are already connected and have been using it with me for months!
This is not as obvious as we all would like.
The best way:
Ask your student to log in and show you their "Classwork" tab.
The 2nd best way:
Register as a guardian on Google Classroom, which allows Google to send you regular updates on your student's work in Google Classroom, called email summaries.
If you sign up as a guardian with an email address that is not associated with Google, the email summaries are automatically sent to you every week. If you sign up as a guardian with a gmail or associated Google account, you may choose to receive either weekly or daily summaries. Every email summary gives you the option to unsubscribe from summaries, if you so choose.

Right now, in this new digital environment, I have Fridays as the due date. This is subject to change when and if some of the mechanics of remote learning shake out. Work can be found and turned in on Google Classroom.
