I grew up in Mexico City, Mexico and moved to Omaha, Nebraska when I was 11 years old. Moving to a new country and learning English was a struggle, but it taught me the value of perseverance and hard work.
I graduated from Creighton University in 2009 with a degree in psychology and moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue a Masters degree in education and social policy from Northwestern University. I taught 5th and 6th grade in Chicago for six years in a dual-language elementary school.
I loved teaching, but my path led me back to psychology and I enrolled at Baylor University as a graduate school psychology student. I decided to join DPS because I truly believe in their core values. I am dedicated in helping students succeed and I'm excited to be playing for team DPS!
I am the oldest of three. My sister is a therapist in Fort Collins, Colorado and my brother is a graduate student at UCLA. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs. I am a fan of Dr. Who and Harry Potter. I like to go on long runs and knit in my spare time.
Crecí en la Ciudad de México y me mudé a Omaha, Nebraska cuando tenía 11 años. Mudarse a un nuevo país y aprender inglés fue un reto muy grande, pero me enseñó el valor de la perseverancia y el trabajo duro.
Me gradué de la Universidad de Creighton en 2009 con una licenciatura en psicología y me mudé a Chicago, Illinois para obtener una maestría en educación y política social de la Universidad Northwestern. Enseñé quinto y sexto grado en Chicago durante seis años en una escuela primaria de dos idiomas.
Me encantaba enseñar, pero mi camino me llevó de regreso a la psicología y me inscribí en la Universidad de Baylor como estudiante de posgrado en psicología. Decidí unirme a DPS porque realmente creo en sus valores fundamentales. ¡Estoy dedicada a ayudar a los estudiantes a tener éxito y estoy emocionada de jugar para el equipo DPS!
Soy la mayor de tres. Mi hermana es terapeuta en Fort Collins, Colorado y mi hermano es un estudiante de posgrado en UCLA. Disfruto pasar tiempo con mi esposo y nuestros dos perros. Soy fan de Dr. Who y Harry Potter. Me gusta hacer carreras largas y tejer en mi tiempo libre.
