As part of the negotiated agreement, it was agreed upon that a committee would be formed in which DPS and DCTA will be partnering together and collaborating with stakeholders to assist us with ensuring LEAP continues to be an aligned system focused on teacher growth.
The specific purpose of the LEAP Collaborative Committee (LCC) is to bring a group of individuals together to enable collaboration and joint decision-making where possible in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the LEAP growth and performance system for Teachers and Special Service Providers. The LCC has a great opportunity to define how we build trust into the system and ensure LEAP is about growth not just evaluation.
An example of some of the topics we will be discussing are: Review LEAP training processes, including calibration and certification processes; Review a yearly summary of concerns raised through the LEAP Helpline to inform changes to the district practice and/or policy; Review appropriate feedback mechanisms for Evaluators. One recent celebration is the committee was able to make a decision around the SPS 2nd Administration.
