Meet the Teachers

Mr. Guttilla

I grew up in Long Island NY in a nice town called Huntington. I attended Huntington High School where I was a 3 sport athlete playing football, wrestling, and track. When I graduated I went to Suny @ Oswego State which is a Division 3 NY state college where I wrestled all 4 years of my college career, while studying Health Science where I received my Bachelors in Science with a minor in Coaching.

After Oswego I decided to go to school for Education. I attended Hofstra University where I obtained my Masters in Physical Education. During that time I was a substitute teacher for my home district, Huntington, as well as several other various districts on Long Island.

While I was obtaining my masters I was coaching wrestling not only in Huntington but in Manhasset school district as well at the High school level, and also middle school baseball for Manhasset.

After moving to Colorado to find full time employment I started my career in DPS working part time at Grant Ranch K-8 where I taught K-5 students and coached middle school soccer, and flag football. At that time I was also working for South HS as their assistant wrestling coach.

The following year I moved to Marrama Elementary where I brought several new programs to the school such as Archery, Colorado bike day, and soccer for success.

Moving to Florida Pitt Waller has been a great experience. I am now not only engaging with middle school students on a new level, but coaching flag football as well.

In my spare time I enjoy being outside. I love to hike, camp, ski, snowboard, mountain bike, stand up paddle board, canoe, as well as other outdoor activities.

I am looking forward to working with your student, teaching him/her about life long fitness, and health topics that could improve their life for the long haul while they engage in social skills and skill developing activities that promote healthy lifestyles.

Ms. Ausdenmoore

I grew up in the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex area of north Texas, where I was a member of the varsity Swimming and Water Polo teams for my high school. After my graduation, I headed up north to study at Ashland University (AU) in Ohio and compete for their NCAA Division II Women's Swimming Team. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Ashland, where I also minored in coaching.

After graduating from AU, I returned home to north Texas to pursue a career in education and coaching. I worked at an elementary school in Southlake, Texas as the PE Aide, while also coaching swimming. I then transitioned into being a full time competitive swimming coach for the North Texas Nadadores club team and was also an assistant coach for the Carroll HS Varsity and JV swimming teams.

I moved out to Denver about two years ago, and in my spare time I participate in a variety of sports and activities, spending as much time outdoors as possible. My favorite outdoor activities include hiking, volleyball, kickball, and taking my dog to the park.

I am so excited to be back in the gym and teaching Elementary and Middle School aged students. This is my first year with Denver Public Schools, and I look forward to working with your students during their Physical Education and Dance classes at Florida Pitt Waller.
