Hello Kindergarteners! My name is Elizabeth Button and this will be my 7th year as a kindergarten teacher! This is my 4th year teaching Kindergarten at Edison and I previously taught Kindergarten for 3 years in east Michigan. Before that I studied abroad and taught in Auckland, New Zealand. In my free time I love to read, hike, practice my photography, cook and ski! I am very excited to meet everyone and for the upcoming school year!

Ms. Fiorella

HI Kindergarteners! My name is Fiorella Chiarella, I am a native from Peru and this will be my 3nd year at Edison! I have been teaching for over 30 years. My family and I moved to Denver in 2004 and that is when my relationship with Edison Elementary started since my daughter attended second grade and we were immediately welcomed into this wonderful community. As a family, we love to travel, we enjoy playing cards, watching sports and spending time with our dog. I am looking forward to meeting you and your students and spending a great year together.

Ms. McWhorter

Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Justine McWhorter and this will be my 3rd year at Edison! I have been teaching for 15 years.  This will be my 10th year in Denver Public Schools. I love teaching math and reading and have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade and reading intervention.  At home, I love being outdoors, cooking and playing with my dogs. Learning new things with my students is my favorite part of my work as an educator. I am truly amazed each day by the depth of thinking our youngest learners demonstrate!

Ms. Sigüenza

Hi! My name is Joanne Sigüenza. I am so happy to be starting my first year at Edison this year! I have been teaching kindergarten in DPS for 23 years and have been with the district for 28 years. Kinder is the best grade  - we have so much fun learning so much together! I love to take photographs, go to Rockies and Nuggets games and watch Marvel movies. I was born in San Francisco, but have lived in Denver for most of my life. I went to Skinner MS, North High School and CU Boulder.  I am so looking forward to getting to know you!
