Directors

Ms. Ally Olson

Ms. Olson joined the North Music Department in 2018 as the Director of Vocal Activities and teacher of Music Production. She also serves as the Performing Arts Team Specialist. She previously taught vocal music at Noel Community Arts School in Montbello for four years. Ms. Olson has a degree in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas and a masters in teaching from University of Denver. She lives with her husband, son (Ben), and two dogs in Edgewater and spends her free time riding mountain bikes and singing with Ms. Lushman in their folk trio, Falling for Annie.

Mr. John Jonas

Mr. Jonas joined the North team in 2019. He teaches Beginning Instrumental Class, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Drumline and runs the new North HS Pep Band. More info coming soon!

Mrs. Katy Lushman

Ms. Lushman teaches the Guitar, Piano, Modern Band, and Music Theory classes. She joined the North Team for the 2013-2014 school year after completing a Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. Prior to returning to graduate school, Ms. Lushman taught for seven years in both public and private schools in Cincinnati, Ohio as well as abroad in Switzerland and China where she developed both large and small choral ensembles and taught all levels of music. Ms. Lushman is an active choral musician in the Denver area and is the founder of Denver Choir League. She enjoys exploring the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer with her husband and dog, Sky, and singing with Ms. Olson in their folk trio, Falling for Annie.
