My name is Natalia Martínez Picón, and I am the new Gifted and Talented teacher at Bryant-Webster. I am originally from Barcelona, Spain. I moved to the United States in 2013 and I have lived in California and Colorado.
I will be at BW Thursdays and Fridays every week and Wednesdays every other week. During the days I am here, I will be providing direct gifted services or talent development to students (as time permits); developing Advanced Learning Plans (ALP) for formally identified (H)GT students with the collaboration of the families and teachers; continually reviewing students’ body of evidence and communicating with teachers to ensure identification of students who have been referred to the gifted program and administering cognitive testing, including the district-wide Universal Screening (for kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th grade), as well as students nominated in other grade levels.
During my time off, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, skiing and learning languages. I am a multilingual learner, I speak Spanish, Catalan and English and I am currently learning French.
I am very happy to join the BW community and I hope to learn more about you all!
