"Your Brain Is Your Superpower. Protect it Before It’s Too Late" presented by Heidi Neeley.
If you think Alzheimer’s is something that only affects older adults, this class will change the way you think forever. Alzheimer’s disease can begin developing more than 20 years before symptoms appear, which means the choices you make right now can shape your brain health decades from now.
Heidi Neeley is the Program Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association WI Chapter. With a background as a K-12 educator, Heidi never anticipated entering the field of dementia until 2018, when Huntington’s Disease—a rare, genetic, terminal neurological condition—was diagnosed in her husband, son, and four other close family members. This life-changing experience led her to explore the world of dementia firsthand, beginning with her role at UW-Madison’s Neuroscience Training Program, where she supported PhD students working across 100 neuro research labs and now with the Alzheimer's Association supporting families who are also on the dementia journey.
