Three Goals You Would Like to Accomplish: 1) I would like to increase FBLA members preparedness by making competitive event resources more accessible and promote event resources to raise awareness for less known events. 2) I will create a more unified Wisconsin FBLA by forming connections between regions as well as growing the number of chartered chapters in Region IV. 3) I will work to gain more awareness for FBLA as a whole to help local chapters form community and statewide connections.
How Can the High School Division Offer a Differentiated Experience: The high school division can offer a differentiated experience by creating virtual opportunities for competition preparation, such as hosting virtual presentation workshops geared towards presentation events and test-specific online workshops to prepare competitors for their test events. The high school division can also offer opportunities to prepare future business professionals by offering virtual panels with different business career representatives to help students prepare for their future career requirements and expectations.
How Can the High School Division Expand Membership Outreach: Social media can be used to expand high school FBLA membership by increasing high schoolers exposure to FBLA and business related topics. The state level can provide promotional resources to chapters to help build a foundation or strengthen each chapters involvement and membership. The state can provide resources to aid chapters in promotional activities during National FBLA week to help them structure events.
How Can We Improve Capacity and Capabilities to Lead as a CTSO: CTSO activities could be improved by structuring activities to provide formal officer/leader trainings for FBLA Chapter Officers to help them develop communication, time management, public speaking, and organizational skills. By developing the leadership skills of our members we can support their future career abilities and professionalism by building their business and leadership skills.
Three Goals You Would Like to Accomplish: 1) Expanding communication: Directly explaining to members the opportunities FBLA provides (Executive councils, running for state office, BAA, scholarships, champion chapters). When I was a starting member, I was not aware of all of the opportunities I could gain, so I believe it is crucial in directly providing information through meeting with local chapters. 2) Helping small chapters: Helping chapters by providing resources to increase membership. This would expand Wisconsin FBLA providing more students with the necessary skills needed for their futures. 3) Increase participation: Having more members participate in FBLA activities and creating new activities (BAA, champion chapter, seminars). This would expand involvement on a local, state, and national level, by providing engaging business related content for members.
How Can the High School Division Offer a Differentiated Experience: The high school division can offer a differentiated experience by having members complete surveys from the state and national office. Surveys can include members providing feedback on events, accessibility on FBLA sites, and other FBLA activities. Officer teams would analyze the feedback provided and adapt to the interests of members. This will increase the engagement of members by tailoring to their needs.
How Can the High School Division Expand Membership Outreach: The high school division can expand membership outreach by helping smaller chapters and states feel connected to FBLA on a national level. Coming from one, I know smaller chapters do not always know about opportunities FBLA provides. This could be through virtual meetings with a national/state officer and an advisor, or with the whole chapter. It would be more effective to communicate face-to-face, rather than email. This will increase participation and engagement with FBLA.
How Can We Improve Capacity and Capabilities to Lead as a CTSO: FBLA can improve capacity and capabilities to lead as a CTSO by providing workshops on the regional, state, and national levels that allow members to practice skills based on their career interests. Specific interest workshops could be accounting, marketing, and human resources. FBLA could also arrange expo halls for businesses on a smaller scale for regional and state conferences, similar to the national conference.
