As a part of the contract NCDPI has with SAS, each region is allocated a certain amount of training each year. Below is information provided about face-to-face training opportunities on EVAAS this year in our region provided by SAS.
This entry-level course is a comprehensive foundational session that covers school, teacher, and student data. Without getting too technical, trainers guide participants through conceptual explanations of the statistical models and calculations used to generate reports. Participants learn to interpret patterns in the reports and use the data to support informed decision making for instructional improvements at the classroom, school, or district level. The Coaching Edition format compresses the time for practice and discussion to allow participants brief periods of time to view their own school reports throughout the course.
In this advanced course for administrative teams, school and district leaders discover how they might use student growth data to inform leadership decisions. This hands-on simulation course guides administrators through a process where they analyze schoolwide data and poses questions that revolve around how administrative decisions impact school or district data. As part of the process, administrative teams work collaboratively to discuss teacher and student placement, professional development planning, scheduling, and school improvement. You MUST have a solid, working knowledge of EVAAS before attending this (or have already attended EVAAS 101 in the past).
