Welcome New AIG Coordinators!
“Welcome to the AIG Family New Coordinators!” To support your transition into this role, our team currently provides the following support:· Monthly AIG Coordinators Newsletter Update (click here to request to add your name to the mailing list for these monthly announcements and updates). · Monthly Meet-Ups, virtual meetings to share NCDPI updates and additional news and resources.· Periodic webinars to address topics of interest or address professional development needs expressed by AIG Coordinators· Annual Coordinator Institutes (click here to see the resources and materials shared during the most recent institute).· Annual New Coordinator Orientation (NCO)! This year, the content was shared virtually over a series of three weeks. See the agendas and presentations shared at the links below. In addition, each of our state consultants is primarily responsible for serving four of the State Board of Education regions. Alongside the state consultant, there is a network of Volunteer AIG Regional Leaders to serve in a liaison role to sponsor periodic weekly meetings to bring together coordinators from the region. New Coordinator Orientation
Session 1 content includes the role of the local AIG Coordinator; advocacy efforts for local coordinators; understanding the requirements of NC legislation, including the Local AIG plan.
Session 2 content includes a deep dive into understanding the NC AIG Program Standards, the development of the Local AIG plans, and an understanding of state allocated AIG funding.
Session 3 content includes an examination of related State Board policies and legislation, a review of AIG student data and the use of PowerSchool for statewide reporting, and an introduction to the statewide strategic initiative - Equity & Excellence.
