How was this platform made?

Down Home members from across the state gathered information from their communities through deep listening-- having coffeeshop and front porch conversations, canvassing their neighbors, and holding listening events in their communities.

This platform was compiled through what they heard.

Who made this platform?

Poor and working-class people from across the state worked together to source, research, and write this platform.

Why rural? Why multiracial? Why working-class?

Our small towns and rural places are filled with good, hard workin' people who care about their communities. Down Home organizes with poor and working-class people across race to defeat those who want us divided and to build power for working folks.

What is Down Home?

Down Home North Carolina is an organizing project built by poor and working-class people that is building multiracial power in our staten's small towns and rural places.
