Vision & Hearing Screenings

The Public Health Code Act 368 or 1978 Part 93, states that the local health department will conduct vision and hearing screenings without charge to the children residing in the jurisdiction. Amy Wagoner, The Vision and Hearing Technician from the Van Buren Cass District Health Department comes to all of our buildings at least once a year to provide this service for our students.

According to the public health code, Vision screening will be done at the minimum in grades 1,3,5,7, and 9. Amy goes above the state requirements and screens all of our Kindergarten students as well. Hearing screenings will be done at least in grades K, 2, and 4.
