After viewing the official welcome video go on to brainstorm some initial thoughts, questions etc.

Now watch the following stimulus video focusing on one community of islands that stand to lose what they have because of sea level rise. Discuss - write questions and add the questions to the Padlet before 10am Monday so they can be answered by our expert Dr John Church - world renowned leader of Sea Level and Climate Change research.

Discuss what you know. What new ideas did you get that EXTENDED or pushed your thinking in new directions.

CHALLENGE

  • What is still CHALLENGING or confusing for you to get your mind around? What questions or wonderings do you have now?

As a whole class record all questions that students put forward.

- Each class will then choose ONE question to put forward for the experts to answer. Record their ONE best question via the padlet below.

- Each class then reviews all questions currently on the padlet and uses the ‘up voting’ function to vote on the five best questions.


Monday 9th April, 10:00am

3. Climate Change Expert Live Stream: Students participate in a Live Stream (via YouTube) with a climate change expert. The climate change expert will view the padlet and answer the top 5 questions with the most ‘up votes’.
