Photography offers students the opportunity to explore contemporary artistic practices that make use of the wet medium of photography. The photographic practice resonates with students’ experience and understanding of the world around them. The course offers opportunities for the student to investigate the world of wet photography and manual SLR to develop an understanding and skills that contribute to an informed critical practice. Wet Photography is a traditional practice in photography, which involves the manipulation of photographic papers and chemicals.
Central to this is the development of creative action, reflection and judgement. Photography also offers opportunities for students to investigate the ways in which the artistic fields of photography practice have adapted and evolved over the twentieth century.
