Student Reflection
In the bible passage Matthew 2:9-12, ‘The Visit of the Magi’, the Three Wise Men had heard about the birth of the newborn king, and so they set out, following the luminescent star. When the Three Wise Men arrived, they entered and bowed their heads.
When creating my artwork, I was inspired to use contrasting dark and light blue colours to indicate Mother Mary’s presence in the birth of Christ. The yellow and gold stripes represent Jesus’ light shining brightly on The Three Wise Men; Jesus is the light of the world. As The Three Wise Men look down upon baby Jesus, they close their eyes and give honour and respect to the newborn King; Jesus Christ. I believe that by using posca markers, I was able to bring my artwork to life and look bright and vibrant.
My artwork inspires me to shine my own light and to include Jesus in all areas of my life. We may all have our own differences, but we are all connected through Christ and his salvation. ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ - Philippians 4:13
