Thank you Emma Tory (Year 5, Stella Maris) for these examples of using Numbers in Mathematics and Science to collect, record and interpret data.

Thank you David Emery for the following Keynote activity for use in Mathematics.
Students will measure 4 angles with the onscreen Protractor and name each of these angles by type. When measuring the angles, students need to clearly explain how the Protractor is used.
Students use the built-in iPad screen & voice recorder to annotate and explain how they use the Protractor to measure angles. However, their first task is to duplicate each of the 4 slides, apply the Magic Move Transition, and then place the Protractor in the appropriate position to measure the angle. See the student video if you need this better explained. Students teach how to measure angles with the Protractor using Keynote in Presentation mode using the annotation tools. The second Keynote file illustrates the Magic Move slides that are required. Students upload their explanation videos using Google Classroom.
Properties of 2D and 3D Shapes - By taking photos and creating plasticine imprints, students complete a template where they detail the features of solid shapes — in particular, details about their faces, edges and vertices.
Students add images, voice recordings and text to illustrate their knowledge. The provided template includes a student example and several placeholders for the student work. This template is comes from the Apple iPad PD day.
Learning Intention: To extend my use of verbs for emotions
MySketch - PicCollage - Google Slides
Book “One Minute’s Silence” - David Metzenthen
Read the Publisher’s synopsis. “In the silence that follows a war long gone, you can see what the soldiers saw, you can feel what the soldiers felt. And if you try, you might be able to imagine the enemy, and see that he is not so different from you …” Look closely at the first page opening. What is the mood of the young people shown? Students choose one of the people depicted on this page and pose in the mood of that character. Partners take a black and white photo of the pose and then orally, share their mood in the pose. Ask students to then follow their chosen character as we read through the book, taking note of their attitude change. Continue taking photos in pairs of students replicating the facial expression of their chosen young person through the story.
Share the following with the students to put words (VERBS) to the emotions. https://www.itv.com/news/2014-03-31/scientists-identify-21-different-facial-expressions/
Put photos/sketch onto Google Slides. On each slide, transition a verb to describe the emotion. Use photos from MySketch and experiment with using different sketch effects to make the emotion photos like a sketch in a picture book. NB - My sketch could be done before making google slide or as an extra activity.
Keynote and iPad built-in screen recorder
Template for Teacher or student to produce a how-to recording illustrating their knowledge with fractions — specifically around Improper and Proper Fractions.
Students were required to draw a caricature of a past Prime Minister on A4 paper and use this to form their ChatterPix. Students recorded a 30 second speech on ChatterPix that included key facts on their chosen Prime Minister.
This resource is amazing. Bring learning to life with these Keynote ideas.
