What is a source? A 'source' is a distinct kind of information used for research. Examples of a source: encyclopedia, newspaper article, book, interview, documentary, graph, etc. When using source evidence, it is important to acknowledge the creator(s) who made and reproduced the information you are "borrowing."
What is a citation? A citation is a short, organized statement of details about an information source; usually includes author, publisher and date of publication.
Quick Tips:
Unless your teacher says otherwises, cite sources in MLA format, on a separate page, at the end of your project.
For database material, a full citation can be found at the end of each article. Look for the words "Source Citation."
Many websites now include a "Cite" button. Use it!
