Nomination Form Information Sheet

The Dover-Sherborn High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established on December 20, 2016, to recognize and honor Dover-Sherborn High School student-athletes, coaches, contributors and teams for their outstanding achievements and/or contributions as members of the Dover-Sherborn High School Athletic Program.

Eligibility to become a member of the DS Athletic Hall of Fame

Athletes, coaches, contributors and teams who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to DS Athletics are eligible.

Selection Requirements

1. All must have participated in, or contributed to, the DS High School athletic program.
2. An athlete may be eligible for nomination to the DS Athletic Hall of Fame after five years following graduation. Example: graduated in 6/2017, you would be become eligible after 6/2022.
3. A coach may become eligible for nomination to the DS Athletic Hall of Fame after having coached at DS and being retired from coaching at DS for at least five years.
4. A contributor may be eligible from nomination to the DS Athletic Hall of Fame after five years from his/her contribution to the DS Athletic Program.
5. A team may be eligible for nomination to the DS Athletic Hall of Fame after five years.
6. Selection of athletes should focus primarily on the athletic achievement of the individual in a varsity sport at DS, but consideration should also be given to that individual’s sportsmanship, integrity, and character. Sportsmanship, integrity, and character should also be considered in the selection of all coaches, contributors and/or teams.
7. Selection should not be based on one single athletic event or play.
8. Selection shall not be made on the basis of personal sentiment or the candidate’s popularity.
