Course Syllabus Agreement and Movie Permission Slip

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the procedures stated in the syllabus and on the class website. I understand that:
-There may be work outside of class that is required.
-The student is responsible for all instruction and assignments, whether absent or present.
-The student is responsible for turning in all assignments on time.
-Cell phones are not permitted.
-The use of AI in the classroom is a tool and not a replacement for students' own critical thinking.

Movie Permission
During the course of the 2025-2026 year, I may show PG/PG-13 rated movies in full or as excerpts to enhance our class curriculum. Our school requires parental permission for your student to view movies that are used in our curriculum, which are rated PG-13.
I believe showing your son or daughter movies enables them to benefit from another medium as a resource in their study of World Literature.
Movies, along with our hands-on activities such as reading, in-class discussion groups, and research projects, give students a well-rounded opportunity to discover the world of World Literature. Movies go beyond dry facts and help bring events to life.
Be assured that I will use proper discretion when selecting these movies.
