Meet Miss. Canales
Hello! I am Miss Canales, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year!
I was born in Peru, and moved to New Jersey when I was 5 years old! Spanish was my first language and I had some amazing teachers growing up who helped me learn English at school while my parents maintained my Spanish at home. My teachers always made learning fun and school became a place for me that I loved going to every day. This has motivated me to help others just like me learn English and fall in love with learning. I love watching students grow into who they are capable of being and helping support them as they reach their potential. This will be my 6th year teaching in Dover!
When I'm not at school, I enjoy going on new adventures and traveling to new places, going for runs, reading, and dancing. I love to spend time with my family, between my parents, 6 siblings, 5 nieces and nephews and 2 doggies, there is always something to do! I also love to spend time with my friends.
I can't wait to get to know your child and you all as this year unfolds!

¡Hola! Soy la Señorita Canales, ¡y estoy muy emocionada de ser la maestra de su hijo/a este año!
Nací en Perú y me mudé a Nueva Jersey cuando tenía 5 años. El español fue mi primer idioma y tuve maestros maravillosos durante mi infancia que me ayudaron a aprender inglés, mientras mis padres me enseñaban español en casa. Mis maestros siempre hicieron que aprender fuera divertido, y la escuela se convirtió en un lugar al que me encantaba ir todos los días. Esto me ha motivado a ayudar a otros, como yo, a aprender inglés y a enseñarles a enamorarse del aprendizaje. Me encanta ver a los estudiantes crecer y desarrollar todo su potencial, y apoyarlos para que alcancen sus metas. ¡Este será mi sexto año enseñando en Dover!
Cuando no estoy en la escuela, disfruto de nuevas aventuras y viajes, salir a correr, leer y bailar. Me encanta pasar tiempo con mi familia: entre mis padres, 6 hermanos, 5 sobrinos y 2 perritos, ¡siempre hay algo que hacer! También me encanta pasar tiempo con mis amigos.
