About Me

Welcome! My name is John De Ritter, and I am a member of the Social Studies Department at Dover High School. I am committed to creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

I graduated from William Paterson University, where I earned my B.S. in History and Secondary Education. As a strong believer in lifelong learning, I continued my education at Nova Southeastern University, earning my M.S. in Secondary Education with a specialization in Social Studies.

My goal as an educator is to share my passion for history and learning with my students while helping them develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and curiosity they need to become thoughtful and engaged citizens. I believe that history is more than memorizing dates and events. It is about understanding people, examining different perspectives, asking important questions, and making connections between the past and the world we live in today.
