-------------- About Me --------------
I started tutoring math when I was 18 and despite loving it, I fell into the world of market research. I applied the skills I learned as a math major (how to use numbers & data not to just tell a story, but a MEANINGFUL story) while working as a data analyst and research manager at Internet media companies such as Yahoo and BuzzFeed.
Fast forward to turning 30, and that's when I realized my heart belonged in the math classroom, working with students. I quit my job, moved out of my apartment in New York City (NYC), and moved back home to New Jersey (NJ) to go back to grad school and restart my life.
I have since taught as Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Quantitative Reasoning at the New School in NYC and as a Full-Time Instructor of Mathematics at Montclair State University in NJ.
I also studied Spanish at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) while living in Mexico City, Mexico for two years.
I hold a BA in Mathematics from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and a MS in Mathematics from Mountclair State University.
My goal is to rewrite the narrative of "I'm just not a math person" and make math class better for all. If you take a class with me, you'll be sure to catch wind of my positive energy and insistence on how relevant math is to our daily lives.
When I'm not teaching or tutoring math, I'm practicing my Spanish, eating tacos while trying the spiciest salsas, and leading my team in winning Trivia Nights!
