Dual Enrollment Pre-Calculus:
Dual Enrollment Pre-Calculus is a rigorous, full-year course offered in partnership with County College of Morris (CCM) through the Early College program. Students earn both high school and college credit by completing MAT 123 – Pre-Calculus, a transferable 4-credit college-level math course. This course bridges the gap between Algebra II and Calculus by developing fluency in algebraic manipulation, function analysis, and mathematical modeling.
Topics include linear, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions, with a strong emphasis on graphing, transformations, inverse functions, and problem-solving in real-world contexts. Students also explore analytic geometry, systems of equations, trigonometric identities, and applications of trigonometry.
As a college-level course, students are expected to demonstrate independence, persistence, and academic responsibility. Successful completion prepares students for higher-level college math courses, including Calculus I, and strengthens their readiness for STEM-related majors and careers.
