Grading Policy

Grading:

35% Assessments/Projects: Major unit essays, comprehensive research projects, and culminating portfolios. Assignments submitted late will receive a 5-point deduction for each school day late. No credit will be given if a project is submitted more than 3 school days late. Assessments missed due to an absence must be completed within 3 school days of the student’s return in order to receive credit.

30% Quizzes: Quizzes missed due to an absence must be completed within 3 school days of the student’s return in order to receive credit.

35% Classwork & Participation: Daily assignments, active participation, classroom behavior, and consistent attendance. A zero earned in this category may only be made up if the student attends an after-school extra-help session within 2 school days of the original due date.

Plagiarism & Unauthorized AI Use: All submitted work must be original and properly cited. Unattributed source material, plagiarism, or unauthorized use of generative AI on assessments and/or assignments will result in a permanent zero for the specific assignment or assessment and parent/guardian contact.
