Hello, my name is Doug Pillard and I am the broker here at Gravitas Referral Collective. For those of you who may be wondering what a referral-only brokerage is, we are a brokerage that sponsors agents who do not transact real estate, but instead, they are only able to refer prospects out to the transacting agent.

The unique part about this structure is that it allows a licensee to still have the ability to earn compensation from their network, but not have the day-to-day grind and expense of being a full-time realtor. A licensee might choose to join this type of structure for various reasons. Maybe you are a full-time agent currently, but you are looking to step back or even retire from full-time production. Maybe your license has expired or you’re thinking about going to inactive status, or maybe you’re contemplating your future in real estate all together. 

So, whether it is one of the reasons I mentioned, or some other factor, there are any number of scenarios in which it could make sense to decide to become a referral agent. The great part is, you are still able to help your friends, family, and others within your network who have a need to buy or sell real estate by referring them to a highly experienced group of professionals. In this limited function referral role, your cost to be an agent will be drastically reduced. In short, the only thing you are responsible for is maintaining your license.
