We all live in a technology and media-saturated environment where having access to a wealth of information, rapid advancements in technology, and the capacity to cooperate and make individual contributions are highlighted. 

Given this scenario, it is imperative than one must be able to demonstrate a variety of functional and critical thinking abilities linked to information, media, and technology in order to be an asset in the Department's productivity.
