Candidates exuded elegance, wit, and talent at Ginoo at Hiyas ng DOrSU 2025 Preliminary Competition

Elegance, intellect, and creativity took center stage as eleven (11) pairs of candidates from the various faculties of Davao Oriental State University – Main Campus and its extension campuses vied for the coveted titles of Ginoo at Hiyas ng DOrSU 2025 during the Preliminary Competition held today, April 21, at the University Academic Building Conference Room.
The pre-pageant competition was a celebration of diverse strengths and cultural pride, as the candidates skillfully displayed their remarkable talents, and showcased their eloquent responses during the closed-door interview segment of the competition. From graceful cultural dances to soulful musical performances, the contestants brought not just entertainment but also a sense of purpose and pride in representing their respective faculties.
For the Hiyas ng DOrSU 2025 closed-door interview segment, three standout candidates emerged at the top: Niña Luz Pamaclawan from the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (FNAHS), Precious Gift Valencia of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences (FALS), and Cleo Marie Lelis representing the Faculty of Criminal Justice Education (FCJE). For the Ginoo ng DOrSU 2025, Johnrave Pabroa of FCJE made it to the top three alongside Patrick Kem Montemayor of the Faculty of Business Management (FBM), and Ken Joven Cornista from the San Isidro CAMPUS (SIC).
For the Talent Category, it was the satellite campuses that stole the spotlight—San Isidro and Cateel Campuses both delivered powerful performances, while the Faculty of Teacher Education (FTED) also earned a spot among the top-ranked talents. Meanwhile, FALS, FNAHS, and SIC were also named as among the top three for the Faculty promotional video.
As the spotlight shifts to the final night, the DOrSU community eagerly awaits who will rise and wear the crowns, embodying the spirit of strength, growth, and excellence. With confidence radiating from every smile and charm oozing from every gesture, the candidates ignited the stage setting the tone for an unforgettable Coronation Night happening tomorrow, April 22, at the university grandstand.
