Dorian Michael Hurd II, affectionately called "4", was a star basketball player at his High School James Hubert Blake in Silver Spring, MD, he would eventually go on to play basketball at The University of the District of Columbia. Tragically his life was taken March of 2021 in a senseless act of gun violence. The Foundation was established in memory of Dorian Michael Hurd II, to help student athletes and their families navigate their athletic journey.

Sports gives us all the ability to test ourselves mentally, physically and emotionally in a way no other aspect of life can. For many of us who struggle with ‘fitting in’ or our identity – sports gives us our first face of confidence. That first bit of confidence can be a gateway to many other great things!”
