Prepare for your group AUDITION

• Please come ready to sing a 25- to 30-second a cappella selection from the song of your choice.

• Please familiarize yourself with these sides from EMMA. You may be asked to read one or more of these scenes with a partner. Printed sides will be available at the audition check-in desk.

• Auditions will be held in groups of up to 12 actors. During the ~60-minute group audition, you will:

  1. Sing your individual song selection

  2. Learn and sing a short selection of an ensemble song from EMMA, and 

  3. Potentially be asked to read one or more of these sides from EMMA with a scene partner

• Remember, the audition is your opportunity to perform! It’s not a hurdle or a test. Do something you enjoy that showcases your strengths as an actor and that you’re proud to share on stage. You may memorize your sides or have your script in hand. Paper copies of the sides will be provided at the audition.

AUDITION! 

• • Arrive at least 10 minutes before your group audition time. Check in at the registration table near the Theatre Arts Center studio classroom (SB 1925). Warm up and focus up!

  • Almost everyone is nervous before an audition (just like before any performance). Nerves can help you become more vibrant. Use the extra energy to spur you on. Open yourself up to it, and that energy can work for you!
