Binder Set-Up
Instructions: You will need a 3-ring binder (2 – 2 ½ inch) and 5 dividers for this course. The dividers should be labeled: Reference sheets, Worksheets, Quizzes and Tests, Labs and Lab Handouts, and Lecture Notes/Class Work. Everything in the binder should be in sequential order and all entries should be dated with your name, date, and period written on the upper right hand corner of every paper. The binder will be graded periodically according to the standards on the back of this sheet. Please DO NOT leave your binder in the classroom. M. G will not be responsible for lost/stolen binders.
Warm-Ups/Do Now Activities
This section should include the assignments you complete at the beginning of class.
Reference Sheets
This section should include only pertinent reference sheets making them easy to locate in a hurry.
Your grade calculation sheet
Class guidelines and laboratory safety rules
Lab Report Format
Miscellaneous (which you are instructed to put here)
Periodic Table of Elements
Quizzes and Tests
Lab Reports and Lab Handouts
This section of your binder is for your lab sheets and lab reports that have been corrected and returned by your teacher. Organize the papers according to dates.
Lecture Notes/Class Work/Worksheets
(70-100 sheets) of white-lined paper
This includes: notes, exit tickets, vocabulary words, section assessments, chapter assessments, study guides, class activities, and other class work.
Write your name, date, and period on the upper right hand corner of your page.
You may put more than one assignment on a page.
Your binder will be collected and graded during a test and returned by the end of the class period.
