This is an extension you can download on your Chrome web browser.
It will simplify websites and remove unnecessary items.

If you open 'Extensions', which is to the right of your website address bar (it looks like a jigsaw piece), you can click the thumbtack symbol beside ReadBee to pin it to your favourites. Doing this will add a ReadBee icon to the right of your website address bar. Click it to turn on ReadBee when you are visiting a website.

The buttons are explained form left to right and downwards:
1 and 2: Decrease and increase the font size.
3: Make the text bold.
4: Remove images.
5, 6 and 7: Change the background colour.
8: Change line height, smaller and bigger.
9: Change font (4 styles available: Open Sans, Georgie, Quicksand and Rooney).

A tool you can speak into and it will write.
In Microsoft Word, in the home tab, there is a ‘Dictate’ option. It will type as you speak or it will transcribe an audio recording. Click on the microphone and a new box will open that you can control it from. Click the small microphone button to start or stop.
Google Docs also has this feature. When you open a Doc, click on Tools>Voice typing and a microphone box will open.
When you are ready to speak (make sure your microphone is on and working), allow permissions when it asks, and start talking. Click the microphone to start or stop.
Microsoft Word also has a read aloud speech function. It will read the text out loud for you. When you open a word document, click on the ‘Review’ button and then ‘Read Aloud’. A new box will open where you then control to play, rewind, fast forward and stop.
This is keyboard by Google that allows you to use your voice to type. It also offer text correction and suggestions to help with spelling. It has an auto-correct option and auto capitalisation (the first word of each sentence changes to a capital letter). There is also a glide typing option where you can slide through the letters. Install it on the Google Play store or the Apple App Store.
Microsoft Word has an immersive reader that has a number of useful features including:
read aloud (male or female option and speed adjustment)
increase / decrease text size
increase spacing
different font options
different background colour options
turning off formatting
separating words by syllables
identifying different parts of speech by highlighting them different colours
line focus when reading
a picture dictionary when you click on a word
translation by word or full document
a reading coach - you read out loud and it coaches you on any words you got wrong.
The online version of MS Word includes all of these features. The offline version doesn't have as many.
In the screenshot above, the nouns are in purple and the words are separated by syllable. The picture dictionary shows a book and has translated the word to Arabic. The background colour is set to green.

Enter your text on this website to check its readability score. The adult average readability score is 9 and below. Anything highlighted in yellow means the sentence is too long. Anything highlighted in red means the sentence is complicated. A purple word means you could use a simpler word. Anything in blue identifies adverbs or the use of the passive voice.
