Literacy Awareness Training is available for frontline staff. It's a free, 1.5hour session and can be organised through contacting Donegal ETB's Regional Literacy Coordinator, Adele McElhinney, on 0860849284 or adelemelhinney@donegaletb.ie.
MABS offer impartial advice to help people manage money and take control of debt. They offer support online, over the phone and face to face. There are 3 MABS offices in Donegal; Letterkenny, Donegal Town and Derrybeg.

The Community Education Support Programme supports the delivery of adult education courses in the community through the provision of funding for tuition costs and support in the setting up of courses. The programme hopes to encourage adults with few/no qualifications to take part in educational activities, in order to build their confidence as individuals and to help in the development of their community. Under the Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools (DEIS) programme, the Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) scheme seeks to promote partnership between parents, teachers and community family support services.
A HSCL Coordinator is a teacher from a participating school/s who is released from teaching duties in order to work intensively with and support parents/guardians. The overarching goal of the HSCL Coordinator is to improve educational outcomes for children through their work with the key adults in the child’s life.

Donegal ETB's Adult Guidance and Information Service offers impartial and confidential information, advice, guidance and counselling on the educational options that are available both within Donegal ETB and with other education providers. The aim of the service is to support people to make the right decisions about returning to education and training and to help people to make those decisions within the context of their wider life.

At the National Learning Network Centre in Letterkenny, they provide a range of free courses to people who have had an accident, illness, injury or have a disability and extra support needs. Their courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help get a job or go on to further training.

The aims of Muintearas can be described in many different ways, but all of them are focused on people. To achieve equal opportunities in terms of education and employment for people in the Gaeltacht; to provide personal development opportunities for men and women; to improve the quality of life for those who experience disadvantage; to facilitate full participation of parents in the education of their children; to support the use of the Irish language in all aspects of community life in the Gaeltacht, on the basis of justice and basic rights; to raise awareness in state agencies etc. for the special needs of the Gaeltacht; and to generally function as a facilitator for the Gaeltacht community, to help them to reach their full potential in economic, social, cultural and linguistic terms.

Social prescribing is about supporting the health and wellbeing of people by using community based activities and supports such as exercise, art, reading and gardening.
The Social Prescribing Coordinator will talk to you about what activities interest you, the benefits of participating in them and will assist and support you in attending them.
The programme is for anyone who feels they need support in minding their health and wellbeing, or for anyone feeling isolated, isolated, anxious or depressed.
