This exercise has leveraged the treasures of the Ansel Adams Photographic Prints collection for student education and engagement, a core value of the archives. Students look at the photographs to detect Ansel Adams' greyscale at work with Dominican and Marin County imagery. While providing the historical context of Ansel Adams' connection to Dominican College, I guide students though best practices in handling photographs, photograph literacy, and basic archival principles in maintaining a collection of such notoriety.
