Clear, simple and engaging research communication is an important skill for doctoral students. It is valuable when presenting at conferences, teaching, collaborating with external partners, or discussing research with people outside one's field.
The pitch competition offers an opportunity to develop these skills by challenging participants to present their research in the most captivating, inspiring and educational way possible – in just 2 minutes.
Each participant is given 2 minutes on stage to present their research to the audience and the jury. Please use PowerPoint.
The presentations are assessed by a professional jury based on delivery (stage presence and performance), clarity (structure, storytelling and accessibility), and content (scientific quality and how well the scientific method is explained, precision and disposition). The jury consists of three members and combines expertise in science and academia, communication, and science communication.
The ten finalists in the competition will each receive 1,000 SEK credited to their Student Union card. In addition, the two finalists with the best presentations will each be awarded 15,000 SEK for professional development, such as conference travel or courses.
