Del Mar Hills Academy
Welcome to Kindergarten! I am looking forward to teaching your children this year!.
About Me:
I began my teaching career in DMUSD in 2002 at Del Mar Hills where I taught First Grade and Kindergarten. In the fall of 2020, I joined Torrey Hills. While at Torrey Hills, I taught Fourth and Fifth grade. I am so excited to return to Del Mar Hills and to be back teaching Kindergarten!
I have lived in Southern California my whole life. My family moved to San Diego from the Long Beach area when I was 11 years old. I attended Roger Rowe Middle School and graduated high school from Torrey Pines. Go Falcons!
I attended college at San Diego State University, where I majored in Liberal Studies. I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from National University.

In Kindergarten, we will learn so many new things. We will learn letter names and sounds, as well as how to write them. We will begin to blend sounds and start our journey as readers and writers. This will allow us to become authors and write about our lives, our opinions, and information about the world around us. We will be mathematicians, counting to 100 and beyond, solving word problems, and learning how to put numbers together and break them apart. As scientists, we will learn about motion, things that are alive, and the weather. We will learn more about ourselves and how to make friends by being kind and respectful. We will practice having a learners mindset, think critically about the world around us, and become adaptable problem solvers.
Expect to love learning and have fun while doing it!
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my husband, Mike, and our 4 children, Morgan, Gwen, Michael and Graham. We live in Encinitas. Our time as a family is spent on the beach, in the mountains, or at the baseball fields. I enjoy gardening, cooking, walking with friends, and swimming in the ocean when the water is warm!
