Welcome to 4th Grade!

Fourth grade is an incredible year of growth, independence, and discovery! My passion as an educator is helping students develop strong critical thinking skills while fostering a lifelong love of learning. Above all, my goal is to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and challenged to stretch themselves as they discover their unique strengths.

Guided by DMUSD’s Portrait of a Learner, our classroom focuses on cultivating student agency, creative problem-solving, and collaboration. This year, we’ll dive into rich, hands-on learning across all subjects:

• 📚 Language Arts: Developing deep comprehension strategies, analyzing complex texts through novel studies and read-alouds, and growing into confident, thoughtful readers.

• 🔢 Mathematics: Building fluency with multi-digit multiplication and division, investigating geometric figures, and mastering fractions.

• 🗺️ California Social Studies (TCI): Exploring the rich story of our "Golden State"—from its early history and diverse geography to how we can thoughtfully problem-solve for California’s future.

• 🔬 Science (Amplify): Stepping into the shoes of real-world scientists to investigate Earth’s changing features, analyze plant and animal survival structures, and explore energy and motion.
