First grade is a year of wonder! Every day brings new questions to ask and opportunities to grow. In our classroom, students will learn through hands-on experiences, meaningful conversations, and teamwork. Throughout the day, you'll often hear us singing: whether we're transitioning between activities, exploring a new math idea, or simply adding a little extra joy to the day, music is one of the ways we learn and connect as a classroom community. Together, we'll build confidence, independence, and kindness while learning to think deeply, take risks, and celebrate progress. I can't wait to partner with you to make this a joyful year filled with curiosity, growth, and unforgettable first-grade memories!
When I’m not at school, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, enjoying time outdoors, or planning my next adventure. I grew up in San Diego, but after spending time in different parts of the U.S. I now live in Encinitas with my husband and our one-year-old son, Luke. I love nature, traveling, scuba diving, playing volleyball, photography, and curling up with a good mystery novel or TV show. Some of my favorite places I’ve visited are New Zealand and Scotland, and earlier this year we got to take Luke on his first big international trip to Japan! I'm always excited to explore new places and discover new ideas.
