Ms. Rodriguez enjoying a sunny day.
As a child of first generation immigrants to the United States, I learned to value education. I was born in Los Angeles and I have lived my entire life in Southern California. I have both a bachelor's and Master's degree in Education, with an emphasis in Mathematics. This year is my 19th year as a teacher and or instructional coach. I began my career as a 4th grade teacher and I am so thrilled to be returning to my absolutely favorite elementary grade.

I believe that my role as the teacher is to create a classroom community that thrives on curiosity and discovery while building connections in a positive environment. You can look forward to learning environments that build collaboration through challenging but accessible content, through inquiry-based teaching practices. My goal is always to be a teacher who truly listens, adjusts to every student's needs, and stays fully present in the classroom. I love finding creative ways to make learning fun. We all have genius in us, and our classroom is a place to explore, develop and show each student's genius and talents.
When I am not in the classroom, I am keeping up with my busy life at home. I have two young adult amazing children who keep me on my toes. You will often find me at the dog park with Franco, my dog who absolutely lives for outdoor time. During my free time, I can be found walking along the coast, exploring unique and interesting coffee shops, dropping in to a yoga class or developing my beginner pickleball skills. I can't wait for the school year to begin to meet all of my students and families.
