'An early warning system to mitigate the impact of extreme rainfall and flooding on Himalayan communities'-NERC COP26 Adaptation and Resilience project (Ph.D) Our team has developed a SMART flood early warning system for a mountain watershed based on our experiences in the Lesser Himalayas. Our system involves active participation from the local community and is both cost-effective and sustainable. We have installed our own network of sensors that provide real-time data, enabling timely responses to flood hazards
‘Role of Internal Variability in Hydropower Generation Potential in changing Demand Scenario’-M.Tech thesis Forecast the power demand for the next decade, and by considering climate change, hydropower potential is calculated for the next 100 years of three big Dams of Gujarat (i.e., Sardar Sarovar, Ukai, Kadana Dam).Uncertainty in the result because of internal variability in a climate model is also computed.
‘Impact of Glacier change on downstream discharge of Ravi river basin’- M. Tech Project Using Remote sensing, the change in areal extent of glaciers in Ravi river basin for three decades and correlated it with the downstream discharge.
‘World Migration network analysis and its usefulness in Pandemic’- M. Tech Project International Migration data from UN Dataset was used to analyze the migration pattern and its characteristics in the last three decades. This analysis helps us to find how COVID initially spread around the globe and validate s that the spread of pandemic was limited to its community.
‘Effect of bed roughness on flow characteristics in open channel’- B. Tech Project Analyzed characteristics of flow on different types of bed surfaces using pebbles and vegetation
‘Study of flow patterns around Piers using Computational fluid dynamics and experiments’- B. Tech Project Analyzed characteristics of flow in the presence of piers and compared the flow patterns obtained from CFD software with that of experimental results
