WHERE IS THE APPLICATION FORM FOR __?
The application period for clubs and orgs, also known as enlistments week, will start on September 9! Until then, we suggest that you continue browsing through SCOPE it Out to learn about your favorite clubs and orgs.
HOW MANY CLUBS OR ORGANIZATIONS CAN I JOIN?
You may join a maximum of three (3) clubs or organizations that do not have any scheduling conflicts with one another. This excludes strand-based organizations, as well as clubs and organizations that conduct circumstantial meetings. It is recommended that you regulate and evaluate the clubs you will join in order to balance various extracurriculars and academic obligations. Please also keep in mind that some club/organization schedules may clash with one another.
WHAT IF THE CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS THAT I WANT TO JOIN HAVE CLASHING TIME SLOTS?
Students are not allowed to join clubs or organizations with clashing time slots as this will compromise the systems upheld by the Student Activities Unit (SAU), and club/organization officers.
ARE WE REQUIRED TO JOIN CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS?
Yes, joining clubs and/or organizations is requireed. However, do note that you are already admitted to your respective academic-based organization as a member; thus, you are free to choose and apply to other relevant bodies.
CAN STUDENTS PROPOSE CLUBS?
Yes, all students have the right to propose clubs. Club proposal will undergo a thorough screening and review from the SHS Organization Accreditation Committee (SHS-OAC).
WHEN WILL CLUB/ORG MEETINGS BE HELD?
Clubs and organizations hold meetings every Wednesday. Additionally, some clubs and organizations hold weekly meetings while others follow a circumstantial basis.
DO ALL CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS REQUIRE INTERVIEWS OR AUDITIONS?
No. Usually, performing organizations, school publications, sports clubs, and other organizations are the clubs/organizations that require interviews and/or auditions. Ultimately, it is dependent on the club/organization.
WILL THERE BE CONSEQUENCES FOR STUDENTS THAT DO NOT ATTEND CLUB/ ORG MEETINGS?
Yes. Students who fail to attend more than half of the club/organization meetings without a proper excuse would be recorded as cutting classes and may receive sanctions as mandated by their club/organization's constitution.
IF I JOIN THE SCOPE STUDENT COMMITTEE, WILL I BE AUTOMATICALLY PART OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL STUDENT COMMITTEE?
No. The SCOPE Student Committee will operate independently and exclusively under the SCOPE Executive Board. Should you wish to become a part of both committees, you may apply for both the SCOPE Student Committee and Student Council Student Committee separately.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIGH COMMITMENT AND LOW COMMITMENT CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS?
High-commitment clubs/organizations require rigorous screening and members with adequate skills as required by the organization. Furthermore, they have strict standards that allow the continuous progression of the club/organization. On the other hand, low-commitment requires less time and effort commitment.
