Kara Patricia Constantino David-Conscio, popularly known as Kara David, is a Filipino Journalist recognized for her notable works such as “Ambulansyang de Paa,” “Selda Inosente,” “Bitay,” and “Buto’t Balat.” In addition, Kara Patria translates to "beloved homeland" in Italian (CFI, n.d.). Furthermore, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication as a Cum Laude degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She also hosts GMA Network’s shows and teaches and administers education at the University of the Philippines-Diliman (DBpedia, n.d.). Moreover, she has produced over 200 documentaries to date. She has received fifty local and twenty-two foreign prizes for her journalism expertise, such as the Unicef Child Rights Award (2003), Investigative Journalist of the Year (2004), Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) of the Philippines (2007), and the George Foster Peabody Award. Kara David also established the nonprofit organization Project Malasakit to aid the subjects of her documentaries. “It is our mission to bridge the gap between Filipinos who want to help and Filipino children who need to be helped” (Project Malasakit, 2020). It is one of her life-long advocacies to help children and protect their rights.
