DLSU-IS is committed to providing its students with a safe and friendly learning environment. Attire is not only a reflection of the individual student but also of the general learning environment. Therefore, students have the responsibility to wear clothing that projects a positive attitude of pride in self, school, and community. Students are required to wear appropriate, comfortable, and safe clothing that is neat, clean, and in good taste. They are encouraged to use attires that consider the educational character of the school and the sensibility of other community members. DLSU-IS views the Dress Code as a serious issue and expects parents to promote the observance of this policy. The following are guidelines for students:
Students are reminded to wear decent and modest attire while inside the school premises.
Vulgar, illegal (including alcohol, drugs, tobacco), and/or sexually oriented statements or suggestions on clothing are not permitted. Any dress or statement that may cause a hostile, intimidating, degrading, offensive, harassing, or discriminatory environment is prohibited.
Hats (or other head coverings) and sunglasses are not permitted to be worn inside the classroom and/or during assemblies unless approved by the Principal, a physician, and/or the school nurse.
Chains and/or studded accessories are prohibited. Accessories that increase the student’s risk for accidents are not permitted.
All hemlines of skirts and dresses and slits must be at most two (2) inches above the knee cap.
Shorts must have a hemline of at most two (2) inches above the kneecap. Sports, beach, board, or athletic shorts are not permitted unless prescribed.
The neckline of Shirts and tops must not be lower than two (2) inches below the collarbone. Sleeveless shirts must not have loose/huge armholes and must have at least a two-inches shoulder strap. Crop tops are only allowed if paired with high-waist pants or shorts where the stomach is not exposed.
See-through clothing, spaghetti straps, and plunging necklines are not allowed.
Tattered jeans are only allowed if the holes are not excessive or with huge holes.
Appropriate shoes or sandals should be worn at all times. Open-toe footwear should have either a backstrap, slingback, or heel of at least one inch.
Clothing shall be worn with appropriate undergarments. Undershirts customarily worn as undergarments may not be worn without shirts or blouses. Sando and muscle shirts are prohibited.
The school reserves the right to call the attention of the students who dress inappropriately. The “No Compliance, No Entry” policy will be enforced for students who are not compliant with the dress code.
