Like a town fiesta, members of the community are invited to share in the commemoration by organizing events that invite Lasallians to reflect on the significance of People Power. This captures the imagery most commonly associated with EDSA – crowds linked arm in arm, music and prayers filling the streets, flowers and food offered to soldiers, and the collective jubilation that marked the fall of the Marcos dictatorship.
On the other hand, the pa-siyam evokes the continued mourning that casts a shadow over the revolution: the injustices committed and sustained by authoritarian and oligarchic forces, the lives lost in the struggle against dictatorship, and the enduring wounds inflicted on communities whose suffering has often been pushed to the margins of public memory.
The blood that ran through the veins of EDSA did not simply flow on the avenue itself, but in the years of sustained and often bloody resistance waged by those who fought, suffered, disappeared or were killed before 1986. And long after the fall of dictatorship, state forces continue to claim victims: lives for whom we must continue to mourn and refuse to forget.
Events are spearheaded by the DLSU Committee on National Issues and Concerns, especially its constituent units: the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission (OVPLM), Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA), and the University Student Government (USG) with the support of the Office of Student LIFE.

EDSA 40: Apatnapung Kuwento, Isang Rebolusyon
In observance of the 40th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution, this exhibit serves as a living mosaic of memory, weaving together 40 distinct narratives to honor a pivotal moment in Philippine democracy. By centering diverse perspectives from within and beyond the walls of the University, the collection challenges the Lasallian community to look past the nostalgia and confront the realities of the present. It frames the revolution not merely as a static historical milestone, but as an unfinished struggle—a continuous mandate for every citizen to uphold the values of truth, justice, and accountability. Through these stories, we are invited to reflect on our role in safeguarding a legacy that remains both fragile and essential in our pursuit of a more just and humane society.
This event will be simultaneously held at the 3 campuses: BGC, Manila and Laguna. There will be 8 stories each libraries:
Law Library, 7F Rufino Campus, BGC;
The Learning Commons @Manila, 6F HSSH;
2/F Integrated School Complex;
College Library, 3F MRR Building;
The Learning Commons @Laguna, EKRH.
